The festival offers great opportunities for economic benefits to the communities where carnival originates. Thousands of visitors come from all over the United States and the Caribbean to participate. This event further serves as a professional liaison between the International Carnival sector and the public, business, philanthropic organizations, publications, venues, festivals, government, arts agencies, and other special interest groups.
The three-day Festival features singers, musicians, costume dancers, arts and crafts, and also savory and traditional Caribbean cuisines.
One of the most popular highlights of the weekend is the parade on Saturday, July 13th at 12 noon. The event route starts at TBA traveling along TBA.
Participants march, sing, and dance their way down city streets as thousands gather on sidewalks to watch a spectacle of color dominated by Caribbean motifs, textiles, dance troupes and bands entertaining with choreographed routines, and Moko Jumbies towering over the crowd, displaying their spectacular agility on stilts. Special guests, including elected officials from Baltimore City, add to the enthralling mix of the parade.
